How to manage Scheduled Tasks with eclean Booster

Scheduled Tasks are background jobs that Windows and installed apps can run automatically. eclean lets you review those tasks, search through them, and disable tasks you do not want running on a schedule.

Do not disable tasks only because the name looks unfamiliar. Check the author and path first, especially for Microsoft, driver, and antivirus tasks.

How to manage Scheduled Tasks

  1. Open Scheduled Tasks: Go to Booster > Scheduled Tasks.
  2. Refresh the list: Click Refresh if you want eclean to reload the latest task data from Windows.
  3. Search for the task: Use the search field to look by task name, path, status, author, or other visible details.
  4. Review the task details: Check the last run time, next run time, created date, and last result before changing it.
  5. Disable or enable the task: Use the status switch for the specific task you want to change.
  6. Confirm the result: Refresh the list or check Booster History after changing the task.

What to be careful with

  • Some scheduled tasks are used for updates, drivers, security checks, and Windows maintenance.
  • Disable one task at a time if you are troubleshooting a background process. If something stops working, re-enable the last task you changed.
  • If a task is controlled by policy or another app, Windows may restore it later.

About the eclean startup task

eclean's own Launch at startup setting also uses Windows Task Scheduler. The expected task path is \eclean\LaunchAtStartup. That is separate from manually managing unrelated app and Windows scheduled tasks in Booster.

If your question is specifically "why does eclean start with Windows, but not appear in shell:startup?", read Why eclean does not appear in the Startup folder.
