Adding a tax ID to your billing information

If you're purchasing eclean on behalf of a business, you may be eligible for sales tax exemptions or VAT reverse charges.


Because our entire billing is securely managed by Stripe, adding your company's Tax ID (such as a VAT number, EIN, or GSTIN) is a quick process that ensures your invoices are fully compliant for your accounting team.


Adding a Tax ID during a new purchase


If you are buying eclean paid access for the first time, you can apply your tax details right at checkout:


  1. Select your preferred eclean plan and proceed to the checkout page.
  2. On the secure Stripe payment screen, look for the option to add a VAT number, tax ID, or business tax details.
  3. Select your country's specific Tax ID type from the dropdown menu and enter your official number.
  4. Complete your checkout.


Stripe instantly verifies your Tax ID against official databases (like the EU's VIES system). If your ID is valid and eligible for a tax exemption or reverse charge in your jurisdiction, the tax amount will be automatically deducted from your total before you are charged.


Updating a Tax ID for existing billing information


If you already have eclean paid access but need to add or update your company's Tax ID for future invoices, you can do this from your billing dashboard:


  1. Log in to your eclean account web portal.
  2. Navigate to the Billing section.
  3. Click Manage Subscription. This will securely redirect you to your Stripe Customer Portal.
  4. Find the billing, business, or tax details section in Stripe.
  5. Add your tax ID if Stripe shows the field for your country or billing setup.
  6. Save or confirm the change in Stripe.


Future invoices and receipts generated after the change should display your Tax ID and apply the correct tax treatment when Stripe supports it for your billing setup.


Having trouble with your Tax ID?


Stripe's real-time validation is strict. If your Tax ID is being rejected, please ensure that the billing country you selected matches the country where the Tax ID is registered.
