I cannot uninstall an app or browser extension

Some apps and browser extensions cannot be removed until related processes are closed or the required permissions are available.

If eclean cannot uninstall an item, start by closing the app or browser and trying again.

What to try first

1. Close the app, browser, or related background process.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Open the eclean desktop app.
4. Go to Uninstaller.
5. Choose Software, UWP Apps, or Browser Extensions.
6. Try the uninstall action again.
7. Review leftovers separately before deleting them.

Why removal may fail

• The app is running.
• Administrator permission is required.
• The item is controlled by work or school policy.
• The uninstall entry is broken.
• A browser extension is controlled by sync or enterprise policy.

If the same error repeats, contact support with the item name and exact error message.
