How to use Optimizer safely in eclean

Optimizer lets you change supported Windows settings from one place. It is designed around review and confirmation: toggling a tweak adds it to pending changes, then you apply those changes after checking the list and any warnings.

Do not apply every tweak just because it is available. Choose the changes that match the PC and the outcome you actually want.

How to use Optimizer safely

  1. Open Optimizer: Go to the Optimizer page in eclean.
  2. Find the tweak you want: Search or browse by category.
  3. Read the card: Check the description, warning labels, Pro or Beta labels, current state, and restart requirement.
  4. Open the info panel: Use the information icon if you need more detail about the tweak.
  5. Add the change: Toggle the switch to add the change to pending changes.
  6. Review pending changes: Click the pending changes pill and confirm the list only contains changes you intended.
  7. Apply the changes: Click Apply and confirm any warning dialog eclean shows.
  8. Restart if required: If eclean reports a restart requirement, restart Windows or Explorer when convenient and then check history.

What makes Optimizer different from a one-click cleaner

  • Optimizer changes Windows behavior, not just temporary files.
  • Some tweaks can disable features, reduce background activity, change update behavior, or affect security settings.
  • eclean keeps changes pending until you apply them so you can review the final list first.
  • Some tweaks are hidden on unsupported Windows builds or unsupported hardware.
  • Some advanced tweaks require access to Optimizer beta tweaks.

What to check before applying a tweak

  • Does the description match your goal? Do not apply tweaks that solve a problem you do not have.
  • Does it have a warning label? Breaking, Beta, and Energy draining labels mean the tweak has a tradeoff.
  • Does it require a restart? Plan Windows or Explorer restarts before changing multiple settings.
  • Is this a managed PC? Work, school, antivirus, and system-management policies may block or restore changes.

What to check afterward

Open Optimizer History after applying changes. If something does not behave as expected, check which tweak changed last, revert that tweak first, and restart if required before changing unrelated settings.
