Adding a tax ID to your billing information
If you're purchasing eclean on behalf of a business, you may be eligible for sales tax exemptions or VAT reverse charges.
Because our entire billing is securely managed by Stripe, adding your company's Tax ID (such as a VAT number, EIN, or GSTIN) is a quick process that ensures your invoices are fully compliant for your accounting team.
Adding a Tax ID during a new purchase
If you are buying an eclean subscription for the first time, you can apply your tax exemption right at checkout:
- Select your preferred eclean plan and proceed to the checkout page.
- On the secure payment screen, look for the "Add VAT/Tax ID" link (usually located right below the email or billing address fields).
- Select your country's specific Tax ID type from the dropdown menu and enter your official number.
- Complete your checkout.
Updating a Tax ID for an existing subscription
If you already have an active eclean subscription but need to add or update your company's Tax ID for future invoices, you can do this from your billing dashboard:
- Log in to your eclean account web portal.
- Navigate to the Billing section.
- Click on the option to update your billing details. This will securely redirect you to your Stripe Customer Portal.
- Under the Billing Information section, click Update.
- Scroll down to the Tax ID field, select your ID type, and input your number.
- Click Save.
All future invoices and receipts generated for your subscription will now prominently display your Tax ID and apply the correct tax treatment.
Having trouble with your Tax ID?
Stripe's real-time validation is strict. If your Tax ID is being rejected, please ensure that the billing country you selected matches the country where the Tax ID is registered.
If you believe you were incorrectly charged tax on a recent invoice, or if your valid Tax ID isn't being accepted at checkout, please reach out to our team at billing@eclean.gg or contact us via live chat in the bottom right so we can sort it out.
