How to choose Quick Delete or Secure Delete in eclean

eclean uses different deletion methods depending on the Cleaner tool and the result you want. The main choice is between removing files quickly and making recovery intentionally difficult.

Once a file has been securely deleted, eclean is not designed to bring it back. Confirm the file list before continuing.

How to choose Quick Delete or Secure Delete

  1. Choose Quick Delete for routine cleanup: Use it for cache, temporary files, or items you simply want removed from normal Windows access.
  2. Choose Secure Delete for sensitive files: Use it when the goal is to make recovery much harder.
  3. Review the file list first: Before deleting personal files, confirm the path, file name, size, and last modified date.
  4. Read the confirmation dialog: eclean asks for confirmation before destructive deletion actions.
  5. Check Cleaner History: After deletion, use history if you need to confirm what happened.

What changes after each method

  • Quick Delete is faster and is the right choice for normal cleanup work.
  • Secure Delete takes longer because it is built for lower recoverability, not speed.
  • Secure deletion is not a backup system. If you might need the file later, move it somewhere safe instead of deleting it.
