# How to reset your account password

Whether you forgot your password or simply want to update it for security reasons, regaining access to your eclean account only takes a few minutes.

### If you forgot your password and cannot log in

If you're locked out of your account, you can start a password reset directly from the password reset page:

1. Go to the [**eclean Password Reset Page**](https://eclean.gg/auth/forgot-password/).
2. Enter the email address associated with your eclean account.
3. Click **Send reset link**.
4. Check your email inbox (and spam/junk folder) for a message from **eclean**.
5. Click the link inside the email.
6. Type in your new password, confirm it, and click **Reset password**. You can now log in with your new credentials.

### If you know your password and want to change it

If you're already logged in and just want to update your current password to something stronger:

1. **Log in** to your [eclean account dashboard](https://eclean.gg/account/security/).
2. Navigate to the **Security** tab on the main menu.
3. Scroll down to the **Change Password** section and click **Change Password**.
4. Enter your current password, followed by your new desired password.
5. Click **Update Password**.

| If you created your eclean account via "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Discord," you don't actually have an eclean password to reset! Your login is securely handled by those platforms. If you're having trouble logging in via those methods, you will need to reset your password directly through Google or Discord.
