Yes. eclean is an online-only application and requires a continuous, active internet connection to function properly.
While the idea of an optimization or maintenance tool needing the internet might seem unusual at first, it's essential for ensuring your copy of eclean remains fully functional.
Why an internet connection is required
We use your internet connection strictly for two background tasks:
- Real-time Updates: The Windows ecosystem changes daily. To effectively clean junk files, fix errors, and keep your PC optimized, eclean needs to remain up-to-date. Your internet connection allows the app to listen for and download these crucial updates so you're always optimized.
- License validation: To prevent piracy and ensure you have access to your premium features, eclean periodically pings our servers to verify that your account and license stay currently active.
