Can I use eclean with custom Windows builds?
You may be able to run eclean on a custom Windows build, but we do not officially support custom Windows builds or custom OSs other than our better-integrated AtlasOS experience.
eclean is built for supported 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 installations. Custom Windows builds can remove, replace, disable, or lock Windows components that eclean expects to exist.
Examples of custom Windows builds and custom OSs
Custom Windows builds, Windows modification projects, and custom OSs include names such as:
- ReviOS
- tiny11
- tiny10
- Ghost Spectre
- Nano11
- Other debloated, stripped-down, or performance-focused Windows images
This list is not an endorsement. It is only here to help users searching for compatibility information.
What we support
We support eclean on standard supported Windows 10 and Windows 11 installations.
We also provide better compatibility guidance for AtlasOS because eclean and AtlasOS are made by the same team.
What we do not support
We do not provide official support for other custom Windows builds.
This includes:
- ReviOS.
- tiny11 or tiny10.
- Ghost Spectre.
- Nano11.
- Unofficial Windows ISOs.
- Heavily debloated Windows installations.
- Windows builds modified by third-party scripts.
- Workarounds for components removed by a custom image.
You can still try eclean on these systems, but some features may not work as expected.
What can go wrong on custom builds
Custom Windows builds may change how eclean behaves because they can remove or alter Windows services, scheduled tasks, permissions, registry policies, system apps, update behavior, or security components.
As a result, eclean may:
- Fail to apply certain optimizations.
- Show fewer cleanup or optimization options.
- Detect that settings are already changed.
- Be blocked by custom policies.
- Be unable to repair or restore removed Windows components.
- Show errors that do not happen on stock Windows.
If the custom build takes priority over a Windows setting, eclean may not be able to override it.
Can support help if I use a custom build?
Support can help with eclean account, billing, download, and app access issues.
Support cannot guarantee fixes for behavior caused by a custom Windows build, removed Windows components, unofficial ISOs, or third-party modification scripts.
If a problem only happens on a custom build, we may ask you to reproduce it on a standard supported Windows 10 or Windows 11 installation before treating it as an eclean bug.
Should I use eclean on a custom build?
Only if you are comfortable troubleshooting Windows changes yourself.
If you want the most predictable experience, use eclean on a standard supported Windows installation or on AtlasOS.
