# A DNS change broke my internet connection

DNS settings help your computer find websites and online services. If a DNS change is not supported by your network, VPN, proxy, or Windows version, browsing may stop working.

If this happened after using eclean, reset the DNS change first.

### How to reset DNS in eclean

1. Open the eclean desktop app.
2. Go to **Booster**.
3. Open **DNS Optimizer**.
4. Click **Reset DNS** or choose the previous DNS option.
5. Test a few websites.

### If eclean will not open

Use Windows network troubleshooting or reset DNS from Windows settings. You should also check VPN, proxy, firewall, antivirus, and work/school network policies.

If your PC cannot reach the website, contact support from another device or connection.
